U.S. Congressman Rodney Davis is one of many Republicans facing off against Democrats in Thursday evening’s annual Congressional Baseball Game for Charity at Nationals Park in Washington DC.
The game comes exactly a year after a gunman opened fire on a Republican baseball practice in June 2017–which Davis had attended.
U.S. House of Representatives Majority Whip Steve Scalise, and U.S. Capitol Police Officers David Bailey and Crystal Griner were among those injured in the shooting.

This year’s game is donating funds to charities including The Washington Literacy Center, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation.
Davis is from Taylorville and represents Illinois’ 13th District. He faces Democrat Betsy Dirksen Londrigan in this November’s election.
